The AccessKC Power Bi Specialist is the technical data expert and will leverage technology to drive AccessKC forward through the power of data. This role will create and maintain Power Bi dashboards, analyze program datasets and trends, and generate insights. The ideal candidate is proficient with Power BI, detail-oriented, and forward-thinking, and has a passion for using data to tell impactful stories.

Develop and Innovate: Establish modern analytics and reporting using Power BI dashboards, consolidating information from various sources into simple frameworks and automated workflows.

As a small non-profit agency, staff may take on many tasks. The primary responsibilities of this role include:
Developing Power BI Dashboards: Create analytic and interactive Power BI dashboards from various sources.
Data Management: Clean data, maintain data consistency and accuracy, develop procedures and quality assurance standards to ensure data integrity.
Visualization and Reporting: Develop and maintain models/assumptions and visualizations to report on results, trends, and benchmarks, including voucher redemption, service satisfaction, and other metrics.
Disseminate Data: Coordinate with management and marketing staff to prepare and disseminate clear data and analyses to support reporting, education, fund development, and promotional efforts.

Education and Experience: BA/BS in Data Analysis/Science or a related field, or Power BI certification/ equivalent experience (2-3 years in a relevant role). Proficient in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, with the ability to design and evaluate data management and reporting initiatives. Experienced in data visualization techniques and ability to communicate findings effectively.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill and convey complex data in a clear, relatable manner to diverse audiences. Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
Creative and Analytical Mindset: A creative thinker with strong analytical skills, driven by a commitment to social change. Capable of developing innovative solutions to support the organization’s mission.
Adaptability and Collaboration: Comfortable working independently while being open to direction and feedback. Ability to collaborate effectively within teams, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
Data Synthesis: Ability to quickly and accurately synthesize complex data, tailoring presentations and reports to suit the needs of different audiences, ensuring accessibility and impact.

This position is based in AcruxKC’s fully accessible office. Candidates must live in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Unfortunately, there is no relocation assistance for this position. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
This role uses standard office equipment; the position is required to talk, hear, stand, and walk, and to handle, feel and reach. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds
Occasional evening and weekend work, as well as occasional travel in the Kansas City region

The salary for this position is $50,000-$58,000, based on experiences

Candidates deemed qualified after an initial review of applications will be scheduled for a 15-minute phone screen. If successful, applicants will be invited for an on-site assessment, including a brief written test, a practical exercise to demonstrate proficiency with Power BI, and a short interview. Candidates who perform well on the assessment and interview will be invited back for a second in-person interview.

The AccessKC Marketing & Communications Intern will harness data insights, storytelling, and visual trends to craft compelling content across various social media platforms. This intern will support AccessKC’s marketing and community engagement initiatives by executing structured projects in social media management, content creation, and outreach. This internship provides hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing, helping interns develop real-world skills in digital strategy, social media analytics, and event marketing while learning how to responsibly use AI tools, like ChatGPT, to enhance research and content development. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and eager to gain professional experience in nonprofit communications and outreach.

20 hours per week for eight weeks (June to August 2025), with flexible hours Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A final schedule will be determined with the supervisor to accommodate coursework and other commitments.
The compensation for this position is $17.00 (non-negotiable) and paid time off.
