Health Grants to Schools
Because good health and wellness are essential for Kansas City-area students to experience a positive and nurturing environment, AcruxKC’s work includes health grants for selected local schools.
When the health needs of our students are addressed, we see positive responses by way of attendance, concentration, and overall well-being. That’s why we’re here: to support the health initiatives of regional schools through school-based grants.
Legacy Grants for Student Health
In 2017, the Health Education Committee initiated a new yearly grant that’s available to invited school districts and charter schools in the Greater Kansas City region. Participation is based on several criteria, the most significant of which is the percentage of students eligible for free and reduced-price school meals.
Currently, the program accepts grant requests for:
Asthma Treatment & Supplies
Health Screening Equipment
Mental Health Training
Disease Mitigation Supplies
Emergency Equipment & Training
Since 2017, AcruxKC has moved from six school districts to 12, plus four charter schools. The program has invested over $1.1MM and served tens of thousands of school-age students, faculty and staff on both sides of the state line.
